Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Tiffany Joh wins PAC-10 Championship

From the diaries. Congrats to our golfers. GO BRUINS. -N

Greetings again all, I'm Mulligan Stu from SBN's golf blog, Waggle Room.

Just wanted to pass along word that UCLA sophomore Tiffany Joh - who is a diarist at Waggle Room - today won the PAC-10 Women's Championship, defeating Arizona State's Anna Nordqvist on the second playoff hole.

I've got a little more information about the tourney - Tiff made up a lot of ground in the final round and birdied to get into the playoff, and then birdied to win - in this post, which can also serve as a good place to offer congratulations.

Hopefully Tiffany herself will be dropping by to post a recap (Update: Tiffany has posted an amusing take on her day. Let me just say, it's never good to find toilet paper on your shoe while in the middle of the final round of the conference championship ... and she had to finish a paper at Powell Library after getting back home.).

Congratulations Tiffany, and to the Bruins who finished second in the team standings (second is pretty good in this tourney - Arizona State is nearly unbeatable these days in women's golf).

Other UCLA golfers in the women's championship:

Freshman Sydnee Michaels tied for 15th
Senior Hannah Jun finished 18th
Junior Maiya Tanaka placed 20th
Sophomore Ryann O'Toole tied for 32nd

The men's team finished second in the conference tourney, too, and the high finisher for the men was junior Daniel Im who finished fifth.

Here are the men's results, in addition to Im:

Junior Kevin Chappell tied for eighth
Sophomore Lucas Lee tied for 12th
Freshman Jason Kang tied for 14th
Sophomore Erik Flores tied for 31st
Junior Craig Leslie tied for 46th

Tiffany Joh
I have played two rounds with Tiffany in the past two years as a part of a pro-am, and she is a delightful person, and strong golfer. She is a pleasure and we all hope she shines on the golf course and off for a long time.
