Humpday Bruin Roundup
UPDATE: Finally we get to hear from some knowledgeable college football fans from the internets. Check out this from our friends over at Roll Bama Roll who know a little something about a mediocre coach not getting it done and replacing him with someone who has an established track record of getting it done. I have written here before. My trip to Tuscaloosa few years ago is one of my all time favorite Bruin roadies which was a lot of fun because of the opportunities we had to interact with so many cool and sophisticated football fans. The good guys over at RBR just reconfirmed that all over again. Rooooooolll Tide. GO BRUINS -N
Let's start with a little tennis action on this humpday. Our ladies gave a valiant effort but they came up a little short in their question for 101. They fell to Georgia Tech Yellowjackets by a score of 2-4. And it sounds like the Tech ladies had a little extra support:
Senior Alison Silverio clinched the title with her 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles over UCLA's Tracy Lin.
It was Georgia Tech's first women's tennis title. UCLA had also been seeking its first NCAA title. Georgia Tech had the support of hundreds of rooters on the campus of archrival Georgia.
we also have a little news from the hardwood. Ryan Wright if you guys don't know already is transferring to Oklahoma. From Bruin Basketball Report:
"I've made my decision and I feel that Oklahoma is the best place for me," Wright said.
Lastly, speaking of "student" athlete:
Barrett did not meet an NCAA rule which requires an athlete to pass a minimum of six units per semester.
Not much else to say about a joke of a scandal tainted thuggish football program.
GO BRUINS.

Don't be overly critical
In light of the traditionally rugged curriculum at justsc, it's certainly understandable why a "student athlete" might have trouble handling two whole classes in one semester.
But seriously, folks ....
Chris Barrett is not exactly a household name, at least as far as my household is concerned. Hmm, could it be that he is the sacrificial lamb to show how diligently justsc is in enforcing the academic standards on the football team. It's intersting that not one justsc glamor boy ever had even the smallest problem from an academic standpoint.
What a place. How ANYONE let their kids go to that cesspool is beyond me.

Typos
YOU'RE is not the same as YOUR
IT'S is not the same as ITS
The correct spelling is DEFINITELY, not DEFINATELY.
The expression is "FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES", not "FOR ALL INTENSIVE PURPOSES".
There are many others that pop up, but I can only think of these right now...

What about that
I agree with you. I never bother to think about typos on the net. Everyone is typing fast and we aren't being graded.

...or "I couldn't care less" and...
Basic rule: if you COULDN'T care less about something, then that means you have little to no amount of care for it at all. In other words, practically speaking, YOU DON'T CARE.
If you COULD care less about something, then that means you already DO care for/ about it, and thus the something IS important to you.
Of course, the irony of me writing about something that some people really couldn't care less about is NOT lost on me. :-)
