Timmeh's Gap Closing Rhodes Scholars Losers

Barnes2JJ posted this in the comment thread of silverlakebruin's post on Timmeh's gap closers ongoing implosion this off-season. I wanted to make sure everyone saw it since it was buried deep in that thread.

Apparently the real story behind Pruitt staying in the NBA draft is - get this - he is too dumb to make it through Senora Ross's courses at Southern Cal:

Gabe Pruitt, who recently hired an agent to make it impossible for him to return to USC basketball, did so after finding out he was academically ineligible based on his spring semester grades, according to coach Tim Floyd.

Floyd said that Pruitt could have applied for reinstatement and likely used summer school to regain his eligibility for the fall.

"He felt he was far enough along with the NBA that he would be taking away from his preparation for the draft and elected to sign with an agent and move on," Floyd said. Yeah summer school with Senora Ross. Sure Timmeh. It looks like SuC may have to pay a price. From Scott Wolf's DN blog: It might not seem important that USC guard Gabe Pruitt was academically ineligible following the spring semester because he turned pro anyways, but the Trojans could lose a scholarship next year if Pruitt's ineligibility lowers the team's Academic Progress Report score below acceptable limits.
``It's a possibility,'' USC coach Tim Floyd said.
The NCAA does not automatically penalize schools when an athlete turns pro early, if that athlete is in good academic standing. For example, Nick Young's early departure is not expected to hurt the Trojans' APR score.
The Trojans already fell below the minimum score of 925 (roughly 60 percent graduation rate) in this month's ratings but were not penalized because of a squad-size adjustments for sports with small rosters. Yeah like we are going to all hold our breath for the NCAA to come down on this bunch of losers.

I wonder how come I hadn't seen any recent articles in the LAT by Ben Bolch writing how Timmeh is closing the gap building a hoops rivalry in Tinsel town in the caliber of Duke-UNC. Silence is deafening.

Go Bruins!!!

Thanks
for giving this story a higher profile and for expanding on it, too.  I wasn't quite sure how to block out or highlight the choice bits from the story.

But you are right--the LAT has still not mentioned anything about this (although I didn't read today's paper yet).

Don't read it Barnes!!
Just say no!  You can do it.

Baby steps
Ok, Fox, I will not read the fishwrap for the next three days (beginning today).

The wife and I are off for a mini-vacation and I will be LAT-free and, sadly, BN-free, too.

Baby steps.

That's a start
We're all in this with you.  We'll help you get the monkey off your back.

Losing a scholarship
It's not much of a punishment since the scholarship is open anyway.

by SuperBruinMan on May 25, 2007 6:13 PM PDT   0 recs

And "scholarship" doesn't
exactly have a lot of meaning on that campus.

No big deal
This isn't a big deal for USC because it's all about football over there. Just ask that idiot who wrote that OC Register "article." You know, the guy who resembles the tall blonde guy from the Drew Carey Show and Who's Line Is It Anyways...

Besides, doesn't this just further prove how tough it is academically at USC (like Pom Pom stated)?

Dumber than your average trOJan?
How stupid do you have to be to be below eligibility requirements at a place with no academic standards? Not just that, but to pull that impossible stunt off TWICE!?

With guys like Pruitt, BlOwJ Mayo (referring to his drug run, not the other kind), the 40 year old freshman Taj, and the chickenhead who thought the "frohawk" looked good (Young), SUC may just have the least intelligent program in NCAA history.

by Tydides on May 27, 2007 1:46 PM PDT   0 recs

Is there anyone more stupid than a trOJan?
The most pleasing color on the color wheel is Bruin Blue.  It is in fact "the standard" of perfection in the world of colors.  In the world of intelligence testing, there is a standard of stupidity that many strive for, but few achieve.  That is "trOJan Stupid."

The trOJan family has reached perfection in its stupidity, at least in basketball.  We have perhaps the most stupid coach in memory, who chose to draw a T just in time to kill any chance his team has for an great upset.

Of course, Timmeh can't be criticized for his stupidity in recruiting OJ2, since in fact it was OJ2 who did the recruiting.  But how stupid is OJ2 to recruit Timmeh, who is a loser, and decide to take his paychecks from a family of losers, whose tradition of losing goes back to the Bronze Age.

You have to figure that Timmeh is even more stupid than he is given credit for.  Given that OJ2 recruited him, OJ2 probably told Timmeh how much money he had to be paid to go to justsc, rather than the traditional trOJan approach of simply telling the recruit how much he would get.

In other words, Timmeh had to believe OJ2, which makes him the most stupid leader of trOJans since, I guess, the guy who said, "What?  A wooden horse?  Sure, that seems OK.  Let's open the walls, bring it in, and leave it alone for a while, just in case it wants to disgorge raiders who will utterly vanquish us."

What a perfect trio - Tiummeh, OJ2, and justsc.  A menage a trois for the ages.

It;s getting bigger
Each day the gap is supposing to be "closing" between FUSC and UCLA but instead of it closing it just seems to be getting bigger & bigger with the passing of each day proving that the FUSC Basketball program has a very long way to go before they can even consider themselve's an elite school such as UCLA, UNC or Duke
