Road to Omaha - Sunday Night - Open Thread

Do or die time for UCLA baseball tonight.

If we don't get it done tonight, it will be last time we get to see this:

First pitch is scheduled for 7 pm PST. The game is going to be televised on ESPN2. As gilbert noted its a national broadcast. So we will all get to watch it. BTW gilbert managed to find a this silver lining from last yesterday's debacle. We will take all the positive thinking we can get right now.

Anyways if you don't have cable you can still listen/follow the game online by going here. Plus you can always rock out here in the game thread and get the updates from everyone else.

Let's hope our boys coming through and putting together a rally in the Super Regionals.

Here is to having another baseball open thread tomorrow.

Are you having strange things happen? On my gametracker, both last night and tonight, his dot is moved to first base automatically, or if the previous person struck out his name goes on the opposite side of the dot and the previous batter's name stays there. If you don't know whether this has happened remember to look out for it.

well

we're the only ones commenting, i guess.

I covered college baseball heavily on my blog this year, and it's not a real big community - didn't generate huge amounts of interest.

but it's a great sport. As I'm getting older (turned 45 this week), I care less and less for pro sports, and like all the amateur stuff a lot better.

i review college football books on my blog and particularly like history-related stuff. if you know anything about UCLA history books I should read, let me know.

We adopted our daughter in Lincoln, 15.5 years ago.

Her birth parents were Nebraska students.

But also a lot of previews of what we can expect from our baseball program now that we have a good coach.

Nothing to be ashamed of. They played well and deserved it.

Very Proud of this Team

...hustled and fought hard throughout the whole season. Very proud even w/ the unfortunate ending.

They keep improving:

1st year -- no playoffs
2nd year -- regional loss
3rd year -- regional win; super regional loss

I'll take it bit by bit.

when the team is built so much around freshmen and sophomores. In football, we could have a great year next year (hypothetically) and we would lose almost every player. That's not progress.
