What is Lavo doing w/ his UCLA money?

Here is a look:

Star-divide

Lavin, 42, wants to buy in Brentwood or Corona del Mar, Calif.,. He's also exploring the market for a second home in his hometown of San Francisco.

Formerly the head coach of UCLA's basketball team, Lavin is planning to marry actress Mary Ann Jarou in August.

The house he is selling is Old World Tuscan in style and has four bedrooms, 41/2 bathrooms and Italian gardens. It also has three masonry fireplaces, a bonus room and hand-molded clay roof tiles. It was built in 2004.

So keep that in mind next time you hear apologists whining about us making an incompetent head coach's job difficult.

I remember during Lavin era I used to hear his supporters how unreasonable UCLA fans were making his life so hard and difficult. After all these years when it is so apparent that he basically conned UCLA pretending to be head coach, it is sickening to see how he made a fortune for himself at the expense of UCLA football.

Something to keep in mind when you hear the notion of UCLA fans being hard on "poor" Karl Dorrell.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

If Dalis had not had his brain fart
Lavin would still be trying to get an interview for some kind of assistant position at Cucamonga City College or something.  And certainly, he would not have raped UCLA for the millions, and Mary Ann Jarou would not be his fiancee today.

So, no, the "poor KD" whine is ludicrous.  What a country, where the incompetent can get into positions where they are richly rewarded.

Dalis the culprit
To this day, I still wonder why Dalis removed whatyoumightcallit's interim tag and handed him the contract that basically doomed Bruin basketball, and relegated it to second tier status in the Pac 10.

Granted he recruited well for Harrick, but that didn't translate into any viable coaching skills at all.

His antics along the sideline, that fervent hand clappings to cheer on his clueless, befuddled players seem so painful to recall now.  Before Dalis retired, he commented about his young basketball coach's potentials to achieve that almost made me wanted to puke.

Ok, I finally come clean
The blood is on my hands, as well as the rest of the student body in 96-97.  We all thought he did a great job, and their were articles all the time asking Dalis to make him head coach.  If we had only known then what we know now.

I had wondered who he was marrying, as he was dating a former UCLA gymnist who then worked in administration when I was a student (she would have been my supervisor, but she got promoted right before I started working there).  Her looks are pretty similar to Mary Ann's.

Trina Camacho
Thankfully Trina dumped the fraud around the time DG kicked him out of Westwood.

Then her Bruin blood prevailed
Good to know.  They were dating before Harrick got fired.  By the time he was fired, they would have been dating for seven years.  No smart woman would wait that long for a ring unless there was a really damn good reason.  Mr. BB and I got engaged after seven years, but we had the excuse that we met in college, so we put it off because we felt we were too young.  However, ask Mr. BB how pleasent I made his life about a year before we got engaged, when everyone around me was getting their diamond rings.

She's a good recruit
for Steve Lavin, but four years from now she will leave him, looking disheveled and disoriented, wondering why she wasted her time with a guy who promised her the moon and only delivered cheese.

And then
she will take small acting roles in Europe for a few years, whereupon she will eventually give up and head home, lamenting what could have been if she had only gotten some decent training.

Their last year together
was especially trying, as he was only able to give her 11 orgasms all year.

Some nights
He managed to mutter only a few heavy breathings, then rolled over, snoring the night away.  And we know well what he would say in the morning.  Hey, in bed, as in everything else, it is better to have tried than to stand at the sideline and watch.

She is better off marrying a used car salesman I think.

Their marriage could last longer than we think
It could survive for seven long years, even if they have a 48-minute argument in Palo Alto just a few months after the wedding.

And in a statement to ESPN, Lav will say this:
"You know, marriage is a marathon, not a sprint (1) .  There's always a lot of give and take (2), and sometimes people don't always see eye-to-eye (3).   In the end, there was nothing wrong with her, it was me (4).  We just drifted apart (5).  I will always love her (6) and we've decided that we will still remain friends (7).  They say that 50% of all marriages end in divorce (8) and we gave it our best shot (9), but we just couldn't overcome the odds (10).  Overall, though, I wish her nothing but the best (11) and she deserves someone who can truly make her happy (12)."

few more
1) We kept grinding it out; 2) her parents were a little 'salty' just like ucla basketball fans; 3) we had a "very gratifying" time togehter.

Anyone who expected them
to stay married and have babies simply had unreasonable expectations.

This is the best one yet
How many times do we marvel at the wit and writing skills exhibited by the BN denizens.

The comments add a total of nine sentences.  And they so perfectly use humor to pierce straight to the heart of the issue.

To the contributors, I suggest that you use this as a writing sample the next time anyone asks.

(And to the justsc people looking on, it's really a shame that your lack of education won't let you enjoy truly good writing.  I pity you.  I really do.  Also, Bill and Ted, this is the type of writing you can only aspire to.  Work real hard and maybe you can get admitted to UCLA and learn how to do this.)

Amen to that!
Excellent stuff.  Where else except BN can you read quality writing like that?
