Bruin Baseball: Nation's #1 Rising Program
From the diaries. GO BRUINS. -N
In the culmination of a 2 week long feature, the UCLA baseball program was named the nation's #1 rising program by Rivals.com. The feature took into account the program's history and recent success, along with their potential due to coaches, players and recruiting classes. West coast teams accounted for 4 of the top 10 and the top 3. UC Riverside was #7, while San Diego was #3 and UC Irvine was #2. The Bruins will face all 3 of these teams in 2008 as part of their extremely difficult schedule.
The article noted the Bruins 2006 regional appearance and 2007 super regional appearance as proof of their rising status. They also commented on not only the immensely talented players that make the Bruins title contenders, but also the great recruiting job by John Savage. As Rivals.com college baseball ediotr Kendall Rogers says, "After four seasons as the head man at UCLA, coach John Savage finally has the Bruins thinking Omaha on a consistent basis." Now Bruins baseball is like nearly every other sport at the university; among the best in the nation and competeing for national titles on a consistant basis. Congratualtions Coach Savage on your remarkable job turning around this program and taking it to its rightful place in the college baseball world. Now let's get to Omaha and bring home a national title.

Not just Omaha
Great job by Savage, and we didn't even have to wait till 2010 for some success either!

Pretty amazing
After four seasons, John Savage has UCLA baseball named the top rising program in the country.
After four seasons, Karl Dorrell is named one of the five worst college football coaches in the country.
Dear Karl: there is a free seminar on Learning and Growing taught right here at UCLA by John Savage and Ben Howland. Your presence is requested. And required.

You're an anti-pantite!
How pissed do you think DG is for having to deal with this BS? I hope he has put them on a short leash, assuming he had nothing to do with the non-disclosure of Scott's record. You just don't embarrass your boss like that...

I feel
But I suspect that we are not going to hear anymore about this story, whatsoever, from the media or from UCLA. From UCLA's standpoint, I am sure they are thrilled not to have to answer any more questions about this.
But it's a shame. So many questions were not answered and we may never get those answers.
I, like most everyone here, is most interested in seeing how the team does this year. But those questions surrounding who knew what and when deserved to be answered.
Anyway, I don't intend to hijack Rye's thread, which is a positive one about our baseball program. I just thought this needed to be said.

That IS punishment
Bill & Ted was just a firestarter.
Whazup, with his despicable race-baiting (which he threw out there only to stir up debate, by his own admission) is not worth anyone's energy.
What about if I just watch the last 60 seconds of last year's Notre Dame/UCLA game?
Or, even worse, the entire 2005 UCLA-SuC game (you know, the one we lost 66-19 in our glorious 10-2 year)?
Haven't we all suffered enough?
