How BAD is Stanford? Maybe '0-12' Bad

So bad that Jon Wilner from the San Jose Mercury News thinks they may go 0-12:

The hour-long stretch of practice I witnessed Friday was preposterously ragged, filled with dropped passes and errant throws by T.C. Ostrander. My first thought: This team might go 0-12.

But to be fair, the Cardinal was one day removed from a 120-plus play, heat-of-the-day scrimmage, and the players were probably tired. I was a little surprised to see them back out there in full pads, actually.

Oh, and during that scrimmage, Harbaugh said, Ostrander "played at a very high level."

Star-divide

And apparently Stanford talent level is so pathetic and shallow that as many as 8-10 members of the freshman class is showing up in the 2 deep:

Harbaugh indicated that Frinks will probably play this season, along with maybe 8-10 members of the rookie class.

Owen Marecic, Doug Baldwin, Corey Gatewood, Taylor Skaufel, Jeremy Stewart, Ryan Whalen, Sean Wiser, Frink -- they'll all play this season.

Same with Chike Amajoyi, Tom Keiser and Matt Masifilo.

"Those guys are all showing up in the two-deep,'' Harbaugh said.

Sure, Harbaugh wants his recruits on the field ASAP. That's natural for any new coach.

But it's also another way of saying that many of the players brought in by Buddy Teevens and Walt Harris can't, um, play.

Yet, I am sure Dorrellistas will be out there telling you how this may turn out be a unpredictably "tough" game for Coach Karl.

Go Bruins!

Interesting
This is exactly how some of the Dorrellistas described the team inherited by KD, as if Toledo's recruits were total losers. Oh but now, we'll have a tough game against Stanford? LOSERS!

I don't want to rag on Stanford, they're in a tough spot. Walt Harris really killed that program. I still can't figure out why he left Pittsburgh other than for the money. He'll have a tough time getting a HC job at a top school any time soon...

I have no problem
ragging on the Trees. Those tools from Palo Alto always came across as bunch of arrogant a'holes during those Montgomery days when they were beating up on Lavo at Pauley.

They absolutely need to be destroyed this Saturday. A whimpy win like we had last year will not do.

Stanfurd is the only school
who's fans are more arrogant than justsc, if that's possible.

And the band always seemed to me to say, "Hey, if you can't march well and if you can't play well, then just wander around and act stupid."  I am unimpressed with the Farm from any perspective.  I hope that we beat them so bad they decide to give up football.  I predict that we'll beat them 13-9 (seems like a nice round number.)

I don't know about that...
As far as I know Standfurd basketball is the only pac 10 team to have a winning record against us in the past 10 years. I have no special hatred for the Trees, they're too smart and nerdy to be threatening. Who burns me is the freakin' Arizona wildcats.

Arizona fans might be worse fans than suc fans, as most suc fans are just band wagon fans, the arizona fans are truely vile douche bags. Imagine a lazy frat brother who never quite grew out of the frat bro mentality.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Victory or until next year!

Not talking about the fans
I'm talking about the players. Wasted years that they'll never get back.

Stanford recall
I was at a game during the TD/HS days and saw Stanford lose 52-0 or close to it to UCLA. When the players walked (as they do at Stanford) out of the stadium across to the lockers, you never saw a more dispirited heads down group. I felt at that time the coach had lost them and they were toast for the season. The next week they went to UCB and won, so what do it know?

Kinda sad, actually
Say what you will about Willingham (and ask some ND fans what they think about him), but when he was at the helm they were producing some teams that could at least compete.

Oh well, who cares. Let's murder them this Saturday.
