Center Court: Ben Ball (Oregon State) Open Thread

It's been a while since our Ben Ball warriors have been at home.

Last time they were in action in the Cathedral that Coach Wooden built they were demolishing Arizona on national TV. The excitement around tonight's game might not be the same, but the team and the Den better be in total form when our guys take the court:.

Oregon State is limping into Pauley and it looks like they will be without - Marcel Jones & Sean Carter - two of their key contributors. But as said above (and earlier today) our guys cannot afford to sleep walk through this game if they want to hit the stretch run in full stride next few weeks. If you want to read up more on this game go here and here.

The tip off is set for 7:30 pm PST (FSN West). If you are not getting the game on television you can follow it via links provided at the official site.

As always, if you are watching, listening, following, or tracking the game online, post your comments here.

This is our Ben Ball Warrior open thread.

Fire Away.

GO BRUINS.

Fox - My radio strategy
You replied to me in the other thread, figure I'll reply here.

I find that radio has some advantages over TV - the crowd noise will always tell you what happened better than any announcer. So I listen to the crowd, and tune out all but the score announcements. Then I rely on BN and Telemachus for all the details.

It ain't pretty, but it works.

Years ago, in the era of Bob Boyd, justsc had a reasonable non-conference start, maybe even 11-0.  Their president or AD or some equivalent nitwit solemnly pronounced "Bob Boyd is the greatest coach in the world even if he doesn't win another game."  justsc then went 0-14 in the Pac-8.  That was very nice.

I've got the Fox premium sports package o Comcast.

Get all games except when they go network, like CBS and you get stuck with some midwest game.

I may put a Slingbox at my Mom's in LA to get remainder.

Not Sure Yet
this is looking into next year still so I don't know what kinda cable I'll have..I was thinking about either going with a sling box..or getting adelphia or some sort of digital package in hopes of ordering an fsn package...that comcast thing sounds interesting...is that through your computer or cable provider?
O.A.

by Ollie on Feb 21, 2008 9:07 PM PST up reply actions

cable
If you get Comcast cable there in Dallas, you might be able to order the sports package (while Comcast offers the package, they don't offer it in all markets yet - it was only offered where I live in the past month, major markets likely have better luck with that). It costs $6/month, and you can cancel during the offseason, it consists of 3 regional Fox college sports channels, at least one of which carries most UCLA basketball games.

If Adelphia is all you get, I really don't know what your options are with them. You might be stuck "gifting" a slingbox to family in SoCal.
