Congrats BN

I don't really care much for glowing over winning an award. However, I believe this is an exception.

If any of you have been following the 2007 CFB awards posts sequentially popping up all over the college football blogosphere today, you will know ... the winner of the 2007 CFB Award for "Best Community" was none other than YOU.

Yes, BruinsNation was voted by its peers - a prolific group of bloggers writing their hearts out for their favorite teams all over the country - as the "Best Community" in the entire college football blogosphere. Considering the other incredible group of bloggers - Blue Gray Sky, EDSBS, MGoBlog and the M Zone - who were nominated for this award, this is something special. Any of those guys - the elite blogging communities - that represent the cream of the crop of not just college football blogsphere, but sports blogosphere in general are deserving of this award. So big ups to all of them for a great year.

But let's come back to our little community here on BN.

After all the ups and downs and the roller coaster rides we have been through as a community through the last few years, this is something you all should be extremely proud of.

Odysseus, Ajax, Menelaus, Tydides, Meriones, Achilles, Telemachus, and yours truly have always believed we have the finest group of readers and, more importantly, community bloggers, who have helped us put together the liveliest and most passionate sports bar in the internets (that happens to be drenched in blue and gold). Now its nice to hear that sentiment from folks who are objective. Head over to Burnt Orange Nation (the reigning champion of this award), where HornsFan has a gracious post honoring all of you.

Once again take a bow Nation. Congrats to everyone here on BN.

I know I appreciate

all the people that come here and contribute. I migrated from the message boards that we all know so well, where it's flame, flame, snark, one line remark, unsubstantiated opinion, opposing jerk fan flamer, and on and on and on. I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about. Remembering those days makes me even more appreciative of the time and effort individuals in this community spend to engage the rest of us in lively discussion about all things UCLA. Keep up the good work, this award is about all of you.

How are the other UCLA blogs treating us lately?

Are we still haters?

Have any migrated over here and joined in the fun?

I posted my thought on the award, elsewhere.

Just wondering if more people are straying over here and sticking around.

Truly, the more voices and the more diverse the stronger we are.

I came from there

I don't visit that much anymore now that I have BN, but we get a pretty steady influx of new people at all times of the year. Sometimes you can tell those that are used to the message board style of posting because they have a hard time adjusting to this place where people will actually hold others accountable. Some may find that intimidating, but I think it's great because I don't worry so much about my subsequent opinions lacking perspective.

this is for everyone here who bring such intelligent and well thought analysis and discussion. A big thank you to the front pagers who put so much time into BN and keep this place running so well. I'd also like to thank everyone for taking to the baseball posts and supporting the team. I know they appreciate all the support they can get.

Thank you one and all for this magnificent resource and community.

I only got to spend one glorious year as a Bruin in Westwood but it's thanks to this site that I'm still as fascinated by the ways of US college sports as I was then. My daily visits here are a big part in why I still call myself a Bruin to people who have no idea what that means.

Great Job

Well deserved. My wife (a UCLA Alum)often laughs at how much time I spend checking BN. Eventually, she came around and I often catch her asking, "What does BN say about . .. " or "Did you check BN?" While she has never posted, you all should win a special award if she ever does!!!

BN has become my lifeline to everything Bruin. Sure I get all the crap put out by the Universtiy, but it does have the "takes" provided here. As a rabid fan, who attends almost all home basketball and football games and many baseball games, I'm not sure I'd be nearly as committed as a fan, if it weren't for the insight and commentary provided here.

Great job, boys! Keep up the great work. You're making us fans even more fanatical!!!

Love it here!

That's why, in the middle of a conference, I have logged in and am trying to catch up with the news...just great discussions all the time. And my fiancee also thinks I'm "obsessed" with UCLA because she's seen me on this site so often. Of course, if I'm obsessed, that would make some people here psychotic :)

I can't wait until the football threads start too, this place is going to be amazing!
