Collison RETURNING, Duh-Von Bolts

From Doh!n:

During a conference call, Collison said as late as last week he thought he was heading to the NBA, but after closer examination and consultation with his parents, decided to remain in school.

The idea was floated out there late this past season to utilize him at the off guard position. I believe this incoming class will allow him to do just that. It will be a Farmar-Collison situation, but the other way around this time.

DC returning for his senior season. I certainly did not see this coming, but we welcome him back with open arms.

UPDATE: Duh-von Jefferson declares and will sign with an agent. Somewhat surprising given his strong academic standing. /sarcasm

If not for the 200 word minimum, I would have it d'ed up right above you. Guess that is not necessary now.

Heard the news about 10 minutes ago on my local sports talk station. Great news for next year's team. We could certainly do a lot worse than a Collison/Holliday backcourt :)

200 words
That limit doesn't apply to the administrators (per the settings in our blog software).

Wow
Did not see this coming at all. GREAT news! The competition in the backcourt may make practices as interesting then games. Too bad they don't have open practices or anything equivalent to spring practice in football.

Just goes to show you
We should ALL probably wait before saying someone has definitely made a decision regarding something like this...personally i'm so happy to hear this news i can't explain, DC is a special kid

wow
with the problems with the football team, this is a huge pick me up!!! It makes sense for DC to stay another year since this year's draft is so deep at guard and next year doesn't look to be anywhere close. DC could be in a situation like he was after his sophomore year where there were he would have been close to a lottery pick simply because there were no other point guards.

I know we are thin up front, but I expect us to play a lot of 3 guard lineups or even like Villanova a couple of years ago and go 4 guards and outquick everyone. Definitely something to look forward to!!!

Can Darren suit up for CRN?
We need a fast, tough, smart, and experienced passer out there.

Can DC work?

Let's hope it's infectious!
..it's a good choice for him (cf. reasons above) and here's hoping that he receives a roaring welcome every time he sets foot on the court next season!
God, it's great to be a Bruin!

Ob Absolutely
His knee injury last fall might have affected his speed, overall game more than we thought.  Then to have fouled out of a crucial Final Four game is uncharacteristic, unseemly of an intelligent, competitive athlete with such impressive pedigrees.

Collison will be the floor leader in the coming
" Holiday Time " at Pauley !

yay!
I kept saying it wouldn't be the same watching ben ball without Darren. Now he can be a role model and help mold all of our new kids and show them what a true UCLA player looks and acts like.

what an amazing and awesome surprise!

Final Four 2009 here we come!
