De’End Parker, UCLA, SG – The combo guard originally committed to Cal before switching to UCLA, where he’ll help make up for the surprising loss of Malcolm Lee to the NBA draft. New Basketball Walk-On, Khalid McCaskill

According to this young man's twitter, he's committed to UCLA, likely as a preferred walk-on, somewhat like Alex Schrempf. His profile claims he's adept at attacking the rim, but from his highlight video, he seems to have a silky jumper, albeit a somewhat inconsistent release. He doesn't get much elevation, executing more of a set shot, but certainly has plenty of confidence. He will need to rectify that if he wants playing time in the guard rotation; high-major basketball rarely allows much leeway to set shooters.

UCLA-bound guard De’End Parker, a Lincoln High School product, tipped in Jonathon Williams’ missed jumper with 2.4 seconds left and to give CCSF the title. "I told coach [Justin] Labagh, ‘If Jonathon misses, I’m going to tip the ball back in, I promise,’" Parker said. Parker didn’t disappoint, and after Citrus’s long 3-point attempt was off the mark, the Rams rushed the court in jubilation, celebrating a feat the school has been waiting nearly half a century for. Future Bruin De’End Parker helps his team get a championship.
