Oh Great...here we go again.
#UCLA guard Matt Carlino to transfer, according to Ben Howland. More to come on dailybruin.com/sports

What is the story behind this?
Junior guard Malcolm Lee has a strained patellar tendon in his right knee. Lee sustained the injury early in the second half of the Montana game (Dec. 5) when he was fouled while going up for a layup. Lee is listed as day-to-day and will be reevaluated on Wednesday, Dec. 8 when UCLA, which began final exams today, returns to practice.
Reeves Nelson had a strained right hip flexor and missed Saturday's practice. He was listed as day-to-day. Bruins were off on Sunday and practice on Monday from 3-6 p.m., before returning to the court for their final tune-up against CSLA tomorrow. Season gets started v CSUN on Friday night. GO BRUINS.
Much of the offseason talk was centered on the competition between junior Jerime Anderson, who started half of the games at the point for the Bruins last season, and junior college transfer Lazeric Jones. . . . Howland also made it clear that there will be opportunities for Jones and Anderson to share the floor on certain occasions. "I don’t know that," Howland said when asked if Jones and Anderson’s minutes will be split equally. "Like I said before, I’m sure there will be a time when they are in together. It won’t always be one of them in, one of them out necessarily."
No really. The men's basketball team is having its annual open walk-on tryouts this Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 on the floor of legendary Pauley Pavilion at 6:45 a.m. Details in the link above. GO BRUINS.
Per the official site: Members of the Wooden family and event sponsors announced today that the event bearing Coach's name will carry on. UCLA will take on BYU on Dec. 18th.
We knew that we would return the Kansas trip by playing the Jayhawks in Lawrence this season so this isn't big news, but the Pac-10 and Big XII announced the dates for the game today. We'll head to the midwest for a match-up on Thursday, December 2nd. The times and TV coverage have yet to be announced.
Nelson: "I need to get quicker so I can guard the fours next year. The coaches told me I'm going to start at the four next season, so I'm focused on that. I'm trying to get my outside jumper back from high school." Maybe this suggests JMM will be back, as I'd be surprised if JS stepped right in from day one. And glad RN recognizes the need to focus on defense. (and, yes, I stole this link from AllHailMightyBruins' fanpost)
During Q&A w ESPN: Angulo: Before the season, you talked about the work you put in to correct your jump shot by keeping your elbow in. Was that a factor this year? Anderson: No, no. I just don't think I was that aggressive and confident with my shot and with my game. That comes with putting more work in. I don't think I put enough work in during the offseason to play the way that I needed to play this year. I'm not going to make that same mistake again.
