"It's a deep bruise, but I'll be all right," said Franklin, who has rushed for 306 yards and two touchdowns in 53 carries this season. "I think I could have come back out there but they wanted me to rest it."
Also injured during the game were safety Dalton Hilliard, who sprained his left shoulder, and cornerback Sheldon Price, who sprained his right knee jumping in frustration after missing on an interception on a fourth-down play near the end of the game.
Hilliard will have X-rays when the team returns to Los Angeles. Price said it was "nothing major" and that he would be back in practice on Tuesday.
