Pitt hires Wisconsin OC Paul Chryst

Considering the circumstances they found themselves in, Chryst could turn out to be a solid hire for the Panthers. I think it will be worth keeping an eye on the Panthers to see how they turn out under Chryst. He was on the list for many of us and college football junkies in general who follow the game closely. GO BRUINS.

Jim Tressel Gets Five Year "Show-Cause" Order

"Tressel, forced out in the wake of the scandal, was hit with a five-year "show-cause" order which all but prevents him from being a college coach during that time. "Of great concern to the committee was the fact that the former head coach became aware of these violations and decided not to report the violations," the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions wrote in its report. Greg Sankey, associate commissioner of the Southeastern Conference and a committee member, said in a teleconference that Tressel's failure to act was, "considered very serious and, frankly, very disappointing.""

ICYMI - Mike Leach hires UCLA assistant Jim Mastro

Bruce Feldman reported this via Twitter. Mastro of course came from Nevada last season to help integrate our running game into the pistol based offense. I thought he did a good job and I think he will thrive under Leach. Good get for the Cougs. Congrats to Coach Mastro and good luck to him. GO BRUINS.

Joe Schad: UCLA "inquired"--"Petersen will not be a candidate"

@schadjoeJoe Schad "UCLA inquired about Boise State coach Chris Petersen but the school has been told he will not be a candidate" Not good...

Neuheisel Lowest Paid Coach on Hot Seat

From the International Business Times. It's pathetic when even Kansas, one of the ultimate basketball schools, pays its football coach 50% more than UCLA in a location with such a low cost of living.

Tuiasosopo joins UCLA as assistant strength coach

"Marques Tuiasosopo, a former UW QB and one of the more legendary players in school history, is leaving the position he has held at Washington for the past two years for a similar job at UCLA, it was confirmed tonight." ... "At UCLA, he [Tuiasosopo] will join his coach at UW, Rick Neuheisel, who is entering his fourth year with the Bruins. It's a little unclear exactly what Tuiasosopo's role will be at UCLA other than that it apparently would not be a full-time assistant's job as the Bruins do not have any openings. A UCLA spokesman said he could not confirm the move or say exactly what position Tuiasosopo would fill." This is interesting. Last year's youtube videos from spring and summer training/conditioning definitely hyped all of us up. All we heard from Linn was the players are bigger, faster, stronger; however, the season proved it was just fluff. Let's see if Tui and the improved weight room help.
