De'End Parker looking to transfer

Jon Gold writes on Inside UCLA's Facebook page that Ben Howland has said that De'End Parker is interested in transferring to a school closer to his home in San Francisco, and that Howland will help Parker petition for this.

AD Dan has message on Basketball home games

Busing to the Sports Arena: "Those fans who don't want to drive to the games can catch a ride on the bus service that has been arranged for all 19 of our home games. Fans will have the ability to park for free at Jackie Robinson Stadium, where the Bruin baseball team plays, and ride special buses to and from the basketball game for just $16 per person per game. Basketball player did good

Some basketball players do not quit the team and leave early: Dec. 10 marks the 60th anniversary of one of UCLA's most distinguished alumni, Ralph J. Bunche, receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. "As a political science major at UCLA, he excelled as a debater, wrote columns for the Daily Bruin, reigned as a star basketball player and ultimately graduated summa cum laude. Bunche, who had put himself through college with an athletic scholarship and a janitorial job, was UCLA's valedictorian in 1927."

Hill and Booker Speech on Wooden

"The very last thing I ever heard Coach say — and his voice was failing and you really had to strain to hear him — he looked over at this little group of guys sitting there at this table," Hill said, "and he looked at all of us and he said, ‘I only wish I could have done more for all of you.'" Former national champions Hill and Kenny Booker came to Cal State Long Beach Thursday to commemorate Wooden, two weeks after what would have been his 100th birthday.

Adidas Screwing With UCLA Basketball Uniform? (UPDATE)

Previously, BlueWave wondered in the FanPost re: the new Adidas football uniforms, if Adidas might be tweaking basketball jerseys, going with the tight-fitting jersey look that Nike rolled out a few seasons ago. It turns out they might. Take a look at last year's uniform here. Now take a look at the gallery from the men's basketball team's media day here. If you look closely, the new uniforms appear to fit more snug on top and the numbers seem to have gotten larger than previous seasons. Hopefully Adidas is not going to screw around with what is one of the most classic uniforms in college basketball. UPDATE (B) - Apparently, according to the fine folks at the very good UniWatch blog, UCLA is rolling out new uniforms this season, with some minor changes, but also it looks like it'll include the new Adidas Revolution 30 type technology (hence, the more tight fitting look).

Cincy Recruit Stephenson Takes Plea Deal

Once again, an illustration into what is wrong with college basketball and why I'm glad CBH, unlike Timmeh, doesn't bring these "amateur" players in. Sounds like U$C missed out on the perfect guy for their program: we could have nicknamed him OJ3. Oh well.
