No one can ever replace the legend, but his ideals can help the troubled program. (BN Eds): Kareem's comments are eye-opening. They should serve yet another wake up call as he indirectly exposes how Dan Guerrero's lack of leadership has done severe damage to the brand of the program built by Coach.
A shout out to the good ole days... good luck Reggie!
A long read but well worth the time. A detailed history of Coach Scates' accomplishments and impact on former players, assistant coaches and the sport of volleyball. Although not as polished, I think this is a more compelling piece than the recent LA Times article. Go Bruins!
Al Scates is coaching his 50th year at UCLA, looking for his 20th NCAA title. He has coached more than two dozen Olympians. Good luck coach & bring home #109, and make it championships for both men and women in volleyball.

It wasn't about promises, it wasn't about gifts and it wasn't about arrogance or honors. For me, being a Bruin was the perfect place, at the perfect time and being around the perfect kind of people. "
