The UCLA baseball program has received a National Letter of Intent from Dean Espy, as announced Friday by UCLA head coach John Savage. Espy starred as a freshman in 2009 at South Mountain Community College (Phoenix) and will enroll at UCLA in the fall of 2009.
Espy, a 6-foot-1 infielder from Mesa, Ariz., batted .369 in 58 regular season games for South Mountain CC in 2009. He earned second-team NJCAA All-Region I honors and secured second-team all-conference accolades.
