This hasn't been mentioned anywhere here yet. Just want to wish a happy MLK day to everyone here on BN, who are part of a Bruin community that relishes legends such as Jackie Robinson, Arthur Ashe and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The shot above is from the files of the UCLA History Project. MLK, "under heavy guard and the gaze of television cameras" was speaking to "4,500 students and faculty gathered near Janss Steps" about " racial injustice and the evils of segregation. MLK was asking "for help" and talking about "the future" to thousands of Bruins in April of 1965, a year after he won the Nobel peace prize. Happy MLK Day everyone. GO BRUINS.
