The link above is the first page of uploaded videos on UCLA's official youtube channel. Take a quick look. Can you spot a trend? Notice in the first page that the only videos with views in 4 digits come from the athletics program. If anyone has time or the desire to do this, it'd be interersting to find out videos from which department consistently hits 4 digits in views. It appears number of random videos such as "Prom Dress Rugby" or Block's reaction to racist videos racked up huge views (See videos ranked by views here). It'd potentially another telling datapoint for the clueless chancellor on how important athletics is to our school. GO BRUINS.
The letter to the fans linked above. It reminded me of UCLA athletics trying to tell students to drop the F bombs against Southern Cal at hoops game. I always thought that was lame. While I don't care much about cursing these days, I don't think it's the best idea to bottle up emotion (as long as kids are not breaking any rules) at a college athletics event. It's the emotion that makes college football and hoops special and frankly more fun than pro sports. GO BRUINS.

All of you on Facebook should check out these pictures from the UCLA Student-Athlete Graduation Reception. There are some great pics of ATV, the Women's Gymnastics Team (!), several Men's Soccer players, our Championship Women's Golf Team, and many others. Even though the Facebook page has frequently been an embarassment and a weak apologist for the misdirected Morgan Center, they got this one right. It reminds us of the importance of being both a student and an athlete, and that no one does that better than our U.C.L.A. Bruins.
Congratulations are in order to the following Bruin recipients: Mustafa Abdul-Hamid - Men's Basketball Marco Anzures - Men's X-Country and Men's T&F Kaitlin Sather - Women's VBall Erica Tukiainen - Women's BBall
"The UCLA Athletics Department takes this opportunity to congratulate its 116 graduating student-athletes."
In case you haven't seen enough cool shots of the new facility, official site has some great photos and video. Check them out by clicking on the link. GO BRUINS.
