Richard Brehaut To Play Baseball

This has been in the cards for about two weeks now and even when Coach Savage denied it when it was originally rumored, I teased that it could happen in the future and it has. Richard Brehaut will join the baseball team for 2011, but he will also keep all his football responsibilities. He'll be an offensive player as a left-handed batter.

Two weeks ago, Thompson hit two home runs when Santa Margarita upset No. 1-ranked Santa Ana Mater Dei, 4-2. Last season, he hit a home run against first-round draft pick Gerrit Cole of Orange Lutheran. "He definitely has all-the-way-to-the-top potential," Santa Margarita Coach Kris Jondle said. "He's a great athlete, loves baseball and is very fluid."
