Opening paragraph From UCLA- "Incoming UCLA freshmen Bryce Alford and Zach LaVine have earned PARADE All-America Boys Basketball honors, as announced by the national magazine last weekend"
UCLA Recreation decided this afternoon to refund all tickets already sold and make the event free of charge for all students and 1000 parents.

CALLING BRUIN NATION OUT! Let's Go Bruin Nation! SLAM DUNK the Trojans!! "Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out." -John Wooden
Jon Gold does a nice brief analysis of how Artis fits with U.C.L.A. and Howland, and how his commitment may affect other top recruits.
Carl Kraushaar, the first center to play for John Wooden in Westwood, passed away today at the age of 84. Kraushaar was on Wooden's squad for two years, from 1948 to 1950. He was the leading scorer for the 1948-49 squad, named all-conference, and led the Bruins to their first NCAA tournament appearance in school history (if only he knew what the future held). Rest in peace Carl. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. GO BRUINS
A blog post written in response to an Eamon Brennan ESPN blog post describing the 'UCLA Factor'. Enjoy!
The lure of UCLA, though, was something that not even Duncan could turn down. He considers that stint the pinnacle of his coaching profession, and the Bruins program the top in the game's rich history. He certainly enjoyed three NCAA tournament berths and one Final Four appearance alongside Ben Howland.
Another writer extolling the virtues of agents in college basketball...
Mark Heisler at the L.A. Times writes up a good piece on why it looks like the NBA is on a sure-fire course for a lock-out come July. Obviously, this will have a major impact on who returns to college basketball next year. Discuss away. GO BRUINS
