The Hartford Courant investigated details of the contracts for 15 college basketball coaches, including John Calipari, Tubby Smith, Rick Pitino, Bill Self, CBH , Bob Huggins, and Tom Izzo. Just a few findings:
For duration of his employment, Kansas' Self receives two automobiles which are "the highest line of the manufacturer or are mutually agreed upon, at no cost to Head Coach." (CBH gets 'at least two cars' per the article.)
Kentucky's John Calipari is awarded $50,000 if the team's APR [Academic Progress Rate] is 950 or above. Also, if the previous year's graduation rate is 75 percent or above, Calipari is due $50,000. (Graduation? Kentucky?? HA HA HA!!!!!)
