Interview with UCLA's LB coach Clark Lea whose unit has made an early mark in 2010 season.
Ralph catches up with two of our LBs - Sean Westgate and Akeem Ayers - who were honored earlier this week. GO BRUINS.
Jordan Zumwalt talks about the "winning vibe" and the "awesome" feeling after getting his first sack as a Bruin. Another solid interview by Jon Gold. GO BRUINS.
"If he can be consistent in that style of play, he’s going to be a heck of a linebacker for UCLA," Neuheisel said. "Now you can’t necessarily start putting him up for honors because he’s only done it for three games, but if continues along this pace, I think he’s going to have a chance to make a real name for himself."
UCLA LB coach Clark Lea (who IMHO is one of the better up and coming young coaches in the Pac-10) talks with Jon Gold to give a low down on his LBs. He gives an update on the competition noting that both Sloan and Larimore (a Mike) are "rolling with the ones." I really like what I hear from this guy. He has already developed a reputation of being an intense and aggressive recruiter. Hope CRN hangs on to him for a while. (Oh and kudos to Gold for another impressive interview). GO BRUINS.
Photo Credit: E. Corpuz Apparently Akeem (10) was one of the defensive standouts this past Saturday. Per Erik Boal of the Daily News he went "from practically shaking hands with quarterback Kevin Prince on one play ... to running stride for stride for 20 yards with Logan Paulsen on the next play, before knocking away the ball from the fifth-year senior tight end." As I mentioned earlier this week we are going to need him to step up even more this year to supplement Reggie in the middle. He has the potential to be one of the more explosive athletes we have seen play the LB position at UCLA and you can sense that he might be putting himself in position for a fun season. GO BRUINS.
