The Bruins and Bears split the first two games of the three-game set, setting up one game for the series today.
UCLA got just enough offense on Friday to take the opening game of their series in Waco, but they were blanked yesterday by Baylor, losing 5-0, setting up a rubber match today in a key non-conference seres for the Bruins. It is their only non-conference road series of the season so if they can win today and claim the three-game set, they will have a nice RPI boost and a good win for their postseason resume. But that requires finding some offense today.
Grant Watson will take the hill for the Bruins today. He threw a great game last Sunday, blanking Minnesota in six innings of work on just two hits and striking out eight without walking anyone. He'll be opposed by Austin Stone, who is making his first start of the season after throwing three shutout innings of relief last week.
The Bruins are 3-2 on the young season and can pick up a really nice series win today. You can listen in thanks to the Baylor broadcast team or follow along on GameTracker. As always, you can also get your game updates and everything else on the program on my UCLA baseball Twitter as well. This is your open thread so have at it. GO BRUINS!
