UCLA vs. Cal Poly Sunday Baseball Thread: Another Rubber Match

USA TODAY Sports

It worked last weekend so let's try it again.

In the first weekend of the season, UCLA lost on Friday and won on Saturday. This weekend, they won on Friday and lost on Saturday. The theme? Sunday rubber matches.

The Bruins are faced with another rubber match today, but this time it comes against a very good -- and nationally ranked -- Cal Poly team. The Mustangs offense pounded Grant Watson and Scott Burke yesterday to get even, something Cody Poteet will hope to avoid today. He will need to be better than he was a week ago when he allowed only one run, but lasted just 4.1 innings. He'll be opposed by fellow right-handed sophomore  Casey Bloomquist, who allowed one run on three hits in five innings last weekend against Kansas St.

The game starts at 1 p.m. PT and, as always, you can listen along with John Ramey and Tim Wilhelm. You can also follow along on my UCLA baseball Twitter and on Gamecast. This is your open thread so fill it with updates, thoughts and whatever else you have as UCLA looks to make it two series wins from two, and against a good Cal Poly team to boot.
