UCLA will try to snap a three-game skid this weekend in North Carolina at the USA Baseball-Irish Classic and that starts today when they take on Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish are off to a rough start this season, going 3-4 despite a weak schedule. The Bruins aren't much better at 4-4 and while their schedule has been tougher, they still need to pick things up because they came into the season with much higher expectations.
James Kaprielian will get the nod for the Bruins with the hope that he can repeat his fine start from a week ago. He allowed just one run on three hits in a dominating seven innings to get his first win of the season. The Irish will counter with Sean Fitzgerald, an excellent senior who is 2-0 with a 2.13 ERA and will test a struggling UCLA offense.
Luckily for us, John Ramey made the trip back east so you can listen along with him. You can also follow along on my UCLA baseball Twitter and on Gamecast. This is your open thread so fill it with updates, thoughts and whatever else you have as UCLA hits the road for the first time this season
