UCLA Football: Video Clips, Ulbrich on LBs, Inconsistent Kickers, Saturday Brunch & More Notes

UCLA's kicking game is a question mark. - Harry How

Additional Notes from Practice #10 of UCLA's 2014 spring camp.

Bellerophon and others have already been sharing news and notes from Thursday's practice. If you are looking for updates keep checking our practice stream where we have been blogging in bits and pieces. We have some more notes and a video to share this Friday night (early Saturday AM out in the East).

Our friends from BruinReportOnline.com have posted some extensive clips from Thursday's practice. It's worth a watch if you are a junkie (Note this video its not behind subscription firewall):

Thanks to BRO for those clips.

ICYMI here are Jack Wang's quick notes from Thursday's practice (with interview of Coach Ulbrich):

- Ulbrich also said that the experiment of putting Zach Whitley at outside linebacker is over. The four-star early enrollee looks far more comfortable inside, where he has returned since missing Monday's practice due to a bruise.

***
- Offensive lineman Malcolm Bunche practiced fully after leaving Wednesday with an undisclosed injury.
Linebacker Jayon Brown returned as well, but was limited.
***
- Punter Sean Covington kicked field goals to end practice. He missed three from beyond 40 yards - including a 60-yarder - but even one barely cleared the uprights, flying on a low straight line. He has a big leg and has practiced field goals this spring, but still doesn't look quite natural there.

Wang also noted that Ka'imi Fairbairn "doesn't look significantly improved from his 14-of-20 sophomore season." That is not comforting.

Bruins will get back to practice on Saturday around 10:30 am. JoeBruin is putting together a BN brunch outing. Details hereIf you make it to Westwood, please make sure to share your observations with rest of the community here. Fire them up in the comment threads or blog it as a fanpost. We really appreciate all the 411.
