There are only four early games this week. Two of them will be played tonight and two will be played tomorrow.
Tonight, Kansas takes on Texas Tech at 7:30pm on Fox Sports1 and, later, UConn will head to #6 Houston at 8pm on ESPN. Then, tomorrow, Stanford heads to Washington while Toledo heads to Provo to take on BYU.
UConn is the only team to have beaten Houston since Tom Herman took over last season.
Why UCLA fans should watch UConn at Houston
Houston coach Tom Herman is one of the hottest coaches in college football. He's one of two coaches on my own personal list of potential replacements for Jim Mora should Mora choose to leave UCLA or end up fired after this season.
As I've mentioned, Herman has Ventura County roots. He played his college football at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks and he was raised in Simi Valley. Considering the job he's done at Houston and his local ties, he absolutely needs to be on the short list of any list of potential replacements for UCLA.
Why UCLA fans should watch Stanford at Washington
Simply, this may end up deciding who wins the Pac-12 North. For those Bruin fans who still have enough faith to believe that UCLA will win the Pac-12 South, that means the Bruins could face the winner of this game in the Pac-12 Championship Game. For Bruin fans who have given up hope, it's still a matchup between two Top 10 teams and should be a great game.
