With UCLA's 111th NCAA national championship trophy on its way home to Westwood, it now seems unlikely that Westwood will be welcoming the 112th trophy in the next few days, as the first team with a shot at bringing home #112, our #2-ranked women's golf team, faltered on the second day of the NCAA women's golf national championship tourney in Tulsa.
After two days and 36 holes of golf in NCAA championship tourney action, the Lady Bruins find themselves in a three-way tie for fourth place with a team score of 584 (+24) with Arizona and Southern Cal. With Oklahoma on top of the leaderboard at 575 (+15), the Bruins will need to put together the best round of golf they've had all year long and keep their fingers crossed that Oklahoma chokes down the homestretch to have a shot. UCLA gets underway with a 9 a.m. PST tee time in Tulsa. If you want to track how the tournament is unfolding, you can get live stats from Golfstat here.
Let's hope our Bruins can pull out a miracle on the links today, because the only way #112 is going to be clinched tomorrow is through some divine intervention, some luck, and maybe a Sooner collapse.
