Well, Bruin fans, a sleepy Sunday two weeks before the start of the college football season sure became more exciting yesterday when the Southern Cal program appeared to be in crisis mode...again. And, while we all can appreciate it whenever something disrupts the Trogans' plans, it's Monday morning. So, let's take a quick look at some of the latest UCLA sports news and catch up with What's Bruin!
We'll start off by looking at a sport we don't cover enough: Soccer.
Soccer
On Saturday evening, the Men's soccer team defeated the University of San Francisco by a score of 2-1 in the final exhibition match of the season.
On Sunday, the Women's soccer team played their second game of the season and defeated the University of San Diego 1-0 in double overtime on a goal by Darian Jenkins.
Basketball
Moving to basketball, SBN sister site The Ralphie Report has been previewing Pac-12 basketball teams for the upcoming season and they took a look at both UCLA and u$c. I can only guess that they are more optimistic about basketball than football this year.
Football
The LA Times' Chris Foster has an article looking at the "dynamic" Bruin defense.
Football Recruiting
In football recruiting news, Michael Clark of Scout writes that TE Thaddeus Moss, son of former NFL Pro Bowler Randy Moss, has cut his list down to six schools and UCLA is in the mix.
Scout/BRO's Tracy Pierson has scrimmage highlights of UCLA target WR Theo Howard.
And last but not least, Scout's Derek Young previews 3-star DE Noah Fant who will announce his college decision on Friday. UCLA is in the list of his final five schools, although it sounds like it will come down to Nebraska, Cal or UCLA.
And, that's What's Bruin this Monday morning.
Go Bruins!!
