UCLA's football recruiting focus has largely been in Southern California, but the Bruins went across the country for their latest commitment of the 2006 class in Alabama's Reggie Stokes.

Stokes, who will be a senior in the fall, said he split time at defensive end and linebacker last season, and is uncertain where he will play at UCLA. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder had more than 100 tackles and 10 sacks in 2004.
Stokes said he had scholarship offers from Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, West Virginia and Alabama-Birmingham.
