Two stories about a coach who the Athletic Department never pursued, and a QB who spurned the Bruins jump out at me this morning.    The coach is college football's new "it" boy, "Urban Meyer, the nation's hottest coach, was named after popes but jilted Notre Dame for Florida, where they expect big things of his potent spread offense."  The QB is Nate Longshore, who "was chosen as California's starting quarterback Monday night, beating out Joe Ayoob for the chance to lead the 19th-ranked Golden Bears in their season opener against Sacramento State."
