Blogpoll roundtable

New, 3 comments

This week's Blogpoll Roundtable is up at Paradigm Blog. Here we go.

1. We are now 1/3 of the way through the season and things are starting to shake out.  With that in mind, who are your picks to win each of the BCS conferences, as well as your choice for an at-large berth from a non-BCS league (none is an option)?

ACC: Virginia Tech
Big 12: Texas
Big 10: Michigan State
Big East: UConn
Pac 10: UCLA
SEC: Florida
At-large: Notre Dame

Mainly chalks (or homer picks).  I really think MSU might be the best Big Ten team, but they might choke.  The Gophers will likely do the same.  What happened to Wisconsin, I thought they were supposed to suck?  Notre Dame is going to win 8 or 9 games, and the BCS is going to take them becuase of $$$.

2. What team currently out of the Top 10 (AP or Coach's, doesn't really matter), has the best chance of ending up in the title game?

Wisconsin.  Here's why:

10/1    Indiana
10/8     at Northwestern
10/15     at Minnesota
10/22     Purdue
10/29     at Illinois
11/5     at Penn State
11/12     Iowa
11/26     at Hawaii

One tough road game.  But more importantly, who's not on the schedule, Ohio State and MSU.

3. When you're watching a game, what type of fan can you absolutely not tolerate being around?

For me, it's the know-it-all guy, who repeats stuff he reads on the Internets like he's a bigshot insider.  Usually I know all the stuff this guy is talking about (and more), but when I tell people, I don't act like my sh!t smells like peach ice cream and I'm doing you a favor just for letting you smell it.

We all know that guy.

Bonus: A sizable portion of Michigan fandom is in full meltdown mode (myself especially).  Some have chosen to sequester themselves for this weekend's game against MSU to avoid scaring children, causing long-term psychological damage to those in the near vicinity, and most especially to avoid jail (I'm not saying this is me per se).  Anyways, we need some help. Give us some ideas for replacements for LLLyd Carr (3 L's for the number of losses per year, and no O this year either).  Assistant coaches, head coaches elsewhere, etc. Please, give us something to look forward to.

May I suggest Karl Dorrell?  Unlike Llld he's undefeated this year...
