Pretty Ugly in Pink

So Southern California is getting a new basketball stadium which has its basketball coach - Tim Floyd - a little excited:

"At this point in my career, a driving force for me was coming to a school where I have the chance to win a national championship," he said. "Now that the arena has been built, I can honestly say I think we have that chance at USC."

Yeap this is the same clown who said this in 2005 when he was hired to coach the band of clowns posing as basketball players in South Central:

You mentioned Arizona as the standard for recruiting, how much is UCLA the standard for long-term success in basketball?

I think you look at what's going on right now and the team to beat right now is Arizona. In my opinion, that is the team that everyone should be concerned with over the course of the last ten years. They have been playing at a high national level on a consistent basis, turning out NBA players. They have been doing a lot of their work here in southern California. It makes a lot of sense for a young man who is thinking about the next four years of his life as opposed to leaving our area to build a relationship with the Trojan family, which is so strong. Those are the type of things that we are going to sell and try to do. They will be our staff's measuring stick and I consider Lute (Olson) a guy to look at with great respect. There are a lot of coaches in this league who are terrific basketball coaches, but Lute got that program turned around by being a recruiting coach. I intend to do the same thing here.

Of course Pink's hero Lute lost was humiliated in all of his 3 matchups with Coach Howland this past season, making Pink look dumber than some blowhard standing infront of some "mission accomplished" banner on an air craft carrier.

And although highlight of Pink's 2006 season was a miracle win against UCLA at their little dump in South Central, that was over shadowed by his embarrassing behavior at Wooden's House:

Anyways it's nice to see that Southern California's cute little basketball program finally getting a legit gym. It will make thousands of basketball fans (majority of them cheering for the visiting team wearing those four letters in blue and gold) feel a little cozy during that one sell out 'Southern California basketball program' will experience the whole season.

GO BRUINS.
