Okay. This is kind of a good news/bad news kind of deal.
First of all here is the bad news. Check out the footage of UCLA-Notre Dame game last time these two teams faced of 1964. Bruins lost that game 0-24:
But here is the good news. There may be some similarities between 1964 and 2006. Bruins actually went into South Bend with a (deceptively?) decent 3-1 record. But after getting mauled by the Irish, Bruins went on to lose 4 out of their last 5 games, finishing the season with a record of 4-6. Why is that good news? The firing of Bill Barnes let to the hiring of Tommy Protho, one of the best coaches in the history of Bruin football.
BTW as you can see this is not the first time Bruins and Irish are squaring off in football. A Trojan blogger, who posts in AOL's fanblog covering UCLA missed this basic fact proclaiming:
Anyways back to the video.
Will the history repeat itself in 2006?
GO BRUINS.
