So says the bloggers on AOL's Fan House:
If UCLA's Karl Dorrell isn't on the proverbial hot seat, he could be by the end of the season.
Dorrell's Bruins started well enough with a home win against Utah, then squeaked by Rice before taking a bye. Then they traveled to Washington where conservative play-calling led to a Husky win and the start of a circular firing squad in Westwood.
Internet bloggers are trying to organize a grassroots campaign to toss Dorrell--unless he wins nine games AND defeats USC this season--which will be no easy task with road trips to Eugene, Berkeley and Tempe still on the schedule.
But perhaps the most damning fact for Karl Dorrell is that his greatest supporters...are USC fans. Contract extensions be damned, until Coach Karl can beat the Trojans, he'll never have job security in Westwood.

Oh and BTW if anyone wants to bring up all the warm fuzzies after the shutout of hapless Stanford squad, here are some numbers to put that scrimmage win in perspective:
* 17 points scored by our offense against the dead last worst defense in the country that gives up 39 points a game
* 0 points scored by our offense at halftime, and only 7 points in 3 quarters, against the worst defense in the country
* 390 yards on offense against a defense offering up 470 yards a game
* 175 yards rushing against a defense offering up 300+ yards a game
* 5 turnovers, 7 sacks, and 7 punts for Stanford, and only 17 points scored by our offense
* 160 yards gained by Stanford and only 17 points scored by our offense
* 5 turnovers against the worst defense in the country
* 5 punts, 5.6 yards per pass, 4.8 yards per rush against the worst defense in the country
* 5 trips to the redzone and only 2 touchdowns against the worst defense in the country

All this brings us back to the main point - if Dorrell doesn't win 9 games and beats Southern Cal - Bruin football will need a new direction.
GO BRUINS.
