Back Where We Belong ...

UCLA is No. 1 in The Associated Press' college basketball poll, a position it has occupied more than any other school.

The Bruins combined their championship at the EA Sports Maui Invitational with losses by No. 1 Florida and No. 2 North Carolina to vault from fifth to the top spot Monday.

This is UCLA's 129th poll with a No. 1 ranking, 19 more than runner-up Duke. The last time the Bruins were No. 1 was the final poll of the 1994-95 season when they went on to win their record 11th national championship.
If we can get by Texas A&M in Wooden Classic, we can ride this baby all the way into Jan. I will take it! GO BRUINS.

Bruins are back. UCLA basketball jumps to number 1 in AP poll. I believe this is the first time we have been ranked number 1 in the AP poll since 1995. We are still number 2 in ESPN/USA Today poll finishing right behind OSU. But we may be unanimous number 1 by next Monday since OSU is playing UNC on November 29. Here is the screen shot from ESPN:

Obviously this is gonna be a regular deal under Coach Howland. This is just the beginning. But still we should all savor this. And there is a good chance Bruins will be ranked at the top all through December garnering some huge publicity for the program, specially among the recruits in California and coast-to-coast. Not to mention this will cause all the Dukee/ACC lovers in ESPN to vomit all over themselves.

And it couldn't happen in during a better week. The F*ck SC week. Let's hope Dorrell will not waste all the good mojo flowing from all corners of UCLA athletics this week.
