I want to ask a narrow/pre-defined question to all of you. Before I get to that, here is latest from ESPN.com's Pat Forde:
Who could be next:
Karl Dorrell (22), UCLA. Another guy with a winning record who hasn't won enough. The Bruins play USC Saturday. A second straight upset of the rival Trojans might turn the tide in Dorrell's favor -- but then again, that same scenario only led to a pink slip for Franchione just last week.
Also, we have received emails from few readers who have been tracking ESPN today. Apparently, one of ESPN's college football reporters came on the GameDay show today at 3:30 pm EST and reported that Dorrell is fired if UCLA doesn't win the game on Saturday (I have not received any confirmation of this, if you have, please let me know in the comment thread).Karl Dorrell (22), UCLA. Of course, we will have more on the common sense notion that one game should not determine the coaching decision at UCLA throughout the week. We already have seen some amazing posts full of relevant data which we will bump on the main page. And, yes, we will not bury our head in the sand and ignore the central issue impacting UCLA football just because this is Southern Cal week.
But, for tonight, let's see if we can come up with the answer to a very narrow question (and I am going to do my best to make this as narrow/pre-defined as possible).
Let's say in a hypothetical world you have the information that Karl Dorrell will buy himself at least one more year at UCLA if he beats Southern Cal on Saturday. So all it will take is one loss (as painful as that may be) for UCLA to get a great football coach who will do for this program what Coach Howland and Savage have done for theirs in Westwood. Knowing that information, which of the following factors you will take into account in making your decision wrt to your disposition on Saturday:
Your love for UCLA or your hatred for Southern Cal?
What's that? This question is too tough? Well, here are a couple of images that might make it a little easier. Maybe?

Did that help?
So let me ask one more time. What will be deciding the factor in your ultimate decision on how to approach this Saturday if you were to have inside information that all it will take is a loss on Saturday (as painful as that may be) for UCLA to get a great football coach who will do for this program what Coach Howland and Savage have done for theirs in Westwood:
Your love for UCLA or your hatred for Southern Cal?
This is an either or question.
Fire away.
GO BRUINS.
