Bruins are starting to look unstoppable in the Pac-10. Well at least when they are playing at home. They wrapped up another home series yesterday afternoon by beating up Cal. Lefty Tim Murphy remained unbeaten in the Pac-10 running his recrod to 4-0 (4-2 overall) while it was Decker leading the charge on offense with 2 dingers. Here is the recap:
The Bruins (27-18, 12-2 Pac-10) have now won 19 of their last 23 games, including 12 of the past 14 contests. UCLA has captured each of its last seven home Pac-10 series.
Decker's two-home-run game marked UCLA's second such performance in as many days. Gabe Cohen belted two round-trippers in Friday evening's 13-6 win over the visiting Golden Bears. Decker previously hit two home runs in a 16-11 victory at Stanford on March 31, 2007. Decker finished 2-for-2 with two home runs, two runs, five RBI, one walk and one hit-by-pitch.
Left-hander Tim Murphy (4-2) improved to 4-0 in Pac-10 play, striking out nine in seven innings. The sophomore from Vista, Calif., allowed just one run off four hits in his eighth career start.
California right-hander Alex Rollin (7-4) was tagged with the loss, allowing five runs off three hits through five innings. Rollin issued six walks and recorded four strikeouts.
