The UCLA men's golf program will bid farewell to Head Coach O.D. Vincent in the next few weeks as he travels east to assume a similar position at Duke University.
Vincent brought national prominence to UCLA golf Immediately. In his first year, the Bruins won seven tournaments, including their first conference title in 18 seasons and their first-ever NCAA West Regional championship. They finished third at the NCAA Tournament, their best result since winning the national championship in 1988.
In five seasons, Vincent coached 12 players who won 21 individual crowns, including a pair of Pac-10 and NCAA Regional titleists. The Bruins won 35 tournaments during his tenure, a national leader. Eight of his players earned All-America honors, including two in 2007.
The Bruins recorded four Top 10 finishes at the NCAA Championship in Vincent's five seasons, including a seventh-place finish in 2007. They earned five consecutive post-season berths under his direction, tying a school record set 40 years ago.

KD can only dream at that level of success. If he came close to that kind of success, it would him not Lane Kiffin standing around as the latest Al Davis bobblehead somewhere up in Oakland.
