SURVIVE and ADVANCE

I don't know what it is about second round games. 1995, 2006, 2007, all were absolute nailbiters. Why mess with tradition?

First of all, Texas A&M, much MUCH respect to you and your Aggies from here in BN. We all knew they would be tough here, but they showed the kind of heart that we are used to seeing in our own team.

But in the end. In the waning moments. I believe it was our own bruin78 in the comment thread that quoted "300" and summed up our situation perfectly: "Give them NOTHING, but take from them EVERYTHING". And Darren Collison and Kevin Love did just that with clutch play after clutch play down the stretch. The swarming defense on A&M's final possession was a thing of beauty to watch as three of our guys absolutely snuffed out any chance they had at getting a game tying shot off.

If this were a regular season game going into the tournament, I'd be upset about our chances right now considering how we didn't look worthy of advancing for the first 30 minutes. But this is the Tournament. In a second round where we typically struggle. Where second round struggles have yielded sweet paydirt for us the past two years. Concerned about our two dimensional offense? Sure. Worried? You must be kidding. Survive and Advance. That's what it's all about.

Hats off once again to A&M. They have nothing to hang their heads about. As for us, we will take the lessons from Alabama, Indiana, and now Texas A&M, and regroup.

This is your Sweet 16 postgame thread.
