I don't have time to do my own recap with some of my own thoughts, but UCLA lost to Washington St., 4-3, today in Pullman. The Bruin offense was stymied once again and spoiled a solid seven inning, three run effort by starting pitcher Charles Brewer.
The UCLA baseball team lost at Washington State, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at Bailey-Brayton Field in the second contest of a three-game Pac-10 series. Designated hitter Alex Weber-Shapiro led the Bruins at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs and one walk.
The Cougars (12-12, 4-1 Pac-10) were led at the plate by right fielder Jared Prince, who went 3-for-3 with his third home run of the season, two runs and two RBI. First baseman Alex Burg went 2-for-4 with one run and shortstop Shea Vucinich went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
The Bruins also got a home run from Cody Decker in the ninth, but it wasn't enough. UCLA will conclude their three game set in Pullman tomorrow at noon with Trevor Bauer making his first weekend start against Washington St.'s Jared Prince.
