Hopefully, today's contest won't require the late game heroics of yesterday's 4-3 win. Even if it wasn't easy, the Bruins did pull out the victory to improve to 19-0 on the season. With Arizona St. taking down Cal last night, the Sun Devils and Bruins remain the only two undefeated teams left in the country. The Bruins will now go in search of 20-0 today at 2 pm PST in the series finale versus Cal Poly.
UCLA had to hang on to take game one of the series versus the Mustangs and needed a late rally to take it yesterday so Cal Poly has really pushed the Bruins this weekend. The Bruins will hope that Rob Rasmussen can make things a little easier on them today. Rasmussen is 2-0 with a 2.52 ERA and he's second in the Pac-10 with 13.68 strikeouts per nine inning. Cal Poly will counter with DJ Mauldin, who is 2-0 with a 9.45 ERA and a .353 batting average against.
The game gets underway at 2 pm PST as the Bruins close out their non-conference slate before Pac-10 play starts next weekend. There are plenty of options to follow along with our undefeated Bruins so follow along and check in on this thread with your game updates, thoughts, questions, opinions or whatever else you've got. There's a basketball open thread right here, but this is your baseball game thread so have at it.
