So the incredible winning streak of our baseball team finally came to an end this past weekend. Instead of being bummed about it I think we should all celebrate the team's amazing start which was only surpassed by Arizona State's ungodly 24-0 start. Interestingly ASU also suffered their first defeat of the season losing to the Duckies on Friday night. Like the Bruins though ASU came back and won the series. Rye posted the updated Pac-10 standings in his post-game recap.
The Bruin starting pitching staff struggled a bit this past weekend. Garret Cole had control issues and Trevor Bauer got roughed for the first time this season. Thankfully Rob Rasmussen and the bullpen got it done to get the rubber match. Hopefully the Bruins will bounce back strong. Our pitching staff still leads the Pac-10 with an ERA of 2.32. ASU is second with an ERA of 2.32 and Oregon is third (2.95). Palestra.net's Josh Hoffman recently went out to JRS to get a sense of the chemistry among the Bruin pitching staff. I think you will enjoy watching this piece:
Bruins will get back in action on Tuesday when they host Cal State Fullerton Titans at JRS. As Rye mentioned first pitch is at 6 pm PST and it is $2 Tuesdays so all tickets are just $2. Let's make sure to pack our home stadium once again so that we can send our boys off to Oregon (for a huge three game series against the Beavers) on a good note. Plus, it would be great to start another streak.
GO BRUINS.
