So the UCLA baseball team has good reasons to feel pretty good at this snap shot of time. They have bounced back from their little funk after their season opening 22 game win streak was snapped by Stanford. Bruins have now won 8 of their last 9 games which was highlighted by Cody Keefer's dramatic walk off HR to sweep the series against Southern Cal. With a record of 38-11 (13-8) UCLA is looking for a strong finish to make a legit claim as one of the national seeds in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

Yet the Bruins don't have a lot of room to get comfortable as they open up a 3 game series against a very hungry California Bears (27-19, 11-10) team which is looking to solidify its own spot in the NCAA tournament. While the Bruins are going to feature their own solid starting rotation, they will have their hands full with a Cal starting staff which has also enjoyed a great season. Let's hope Gerrit Cole can get some substantial support from Blair Dunlap and rest of the Bruin hitters when they face off against the Bears at Evans Diamond where Cal is 9-1 against Pac-10 competition in 2010.

The first pitch is scheduled for tonight at 2:30 pm PST. You can also follow along with GameTracker or get updates on Ryan's UCLA baseball twitter. So might as well thread this as our game thread with updates, thoughts, analysis and anything else.

GO BRUINS.
