Just 2 more games left in what has been nothing short of an epic regular season for the UCLA baseball program. Bruins still have lot more to accomplish (hopefully) in 2010 but nothing wrong with pausing really quickly to appreciate the incredible numbers this team has already compiled. With yesterday's series opening victory, Bruins (42-12, 17-8) have now won 10 consecutive Pac-10 games. We have won 10 straight conference contests for the first time since finishing the 1924 season with a perfect 10-0 record in the Southern California Conference. That is ... uhm ... pretty good.
Bruins are looking good in terms of positioning for the post-season. Hopefully they can make it even better by getting a huge win today. Trevor Bauer (9-3, 2.95 ERA) will start for Bruins and James Wise (3-1, 4.24 ERA) will go for the Cougs at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Per Ryan the alumni band will be in attendance.
The first pitch is scheduled for this afternoon at 2:00 pm PST. You can also follow along with GameTracker or get updates on Ryan's UCLA baseball twitter. So might as well thread this as our game thread with updates, thoughts, analysis and anything else.
GO BRUINS.
