So the baseball team is showing a little sign of rebound following a tough series against the ASU juggernaut last weekend. After dropping out of the top-10 for the first time in a while Bruins beat up on Pepperdine on Tuesday and then followed up with a solid series opening win against the Huskies in Seattle. What I find really funny this am is nowhere in LA's local papers (LAT or the Daily News) there was any mention of Bruin's victory, after both of those outlets couldn't wait to report on last weekend's tough losses. Whatever.
Perhaps the Bruins are more focused on the road when they are away from a packed JRS? LOL. I doubt it. From what I read from Ryan's post game wrap, it sounds like Gerrit Cole found his rhythm. He issued just 2 walks in what sounds like an efficient performance against the Huskies team. Hopefully Cole's team-mate, Bruins' other ace - Trevor Bauer (6-3, 2.81 ERA) - will find his own form in the second game this afternoon against Andrew Kittredge (6-3, 5.33 ERA).
The first pitch is scheduled for this afternoon at 2 pm PST. You can also follow along with GameTracker or get updates on Ryan's UCLA baseball twitter. Let's see if we can ride the mojo from last night's game thread. Fill this one up with updates, thoughts, analysis and anything else.
GO BRUINS.
