The women's gymnastics programs is one of the most prestigious programs at UCLA, which says a lot, and today they will try to take the next step in their quest to add national title number seven to their trophy case. Of course it was only a year ago that they rung up national title number six and NCAA title number 106 overall at UCLA. So today they're back at trying to defend their national title with the preliminaries at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio.

UCLA's up and down regular season meant they had to go across the country last week to Georgia for the Regionals, but they won the Regional to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Beginning at 9 am PDT today, the Bruins will compete in the preliminaries of those NCAA Championships and if they finish in the top three of the six-team session, they will advance to Super Six tomorrow where the national champion will be crowned. The five other teams in UCLA's session are Arkansas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Georgia and Illinois.

For those who want to watch, NCAA.com will have a live stream of the event. This is your open thread for the event so if you're watching, keep everyone updated on what's going on, share your opinions, thoughts or questions. Hopefully we'll have another one of these ready to go tomorrow as the Bruins look to make it back-to-back titles, but first off it's about finishing top three today.
