UCLA baseball is on a bit of a roll. They just picked up a big series win against a top notch Pac-10 opponent (Arizona), pushing their record up to 19-12 (9-3 in the conference). The Bruins have a big series coming up against Stanford this weekend. To get ready for the Cardinal, the Bruins will take on San Diego State (11-25) tonight at the Jackie Robinson Stadium (6 pm PST).

UCLA will turn to their freshman Zack Weiss. The right-hander comes into tonight's game with a stingy ERA of 2.63 (2-1). Weiss will match up against Aztec RHP Mike Hacadorian who according to stats have been struggling this season with an era of 6.75 and 0-2 record. Hope the Bruin hitters will come through some run support for Weiss and keep this weekend's momentum going.

The Bruins played these guys before, getting a 5-2 victory at San Diego State on March 1. Scott Griggs started for the Bruins in that contest, but Zack Weiss earned the victory by tossing 3.1 hitless innings of relief. Beau Amaral went 3-for-5 with one double, one run and one RBI in the previous meeting against the Aztecs. A win tonight get UCLA its first season series victory over SDSU since 2006.
