Ryan mentioned for the Bruins to take down Oregon, we will need our two aces to get it going. Gerrit Cole got the job done last night. Tonight it will be Trevor Bauer's turn.
Last year the Ducks tagged Bauer for eight runs, six earned. Bauer will try to get some revenge tonight as he charges in as one of the hottest pitchers in the country with a 8-2 record, 1.47 ERA and a crazy 14 strike outs per nine innings. Ducks will go with right-hander junior Madison Boer (3-3). He comes in with a 2.15 ERA after a strong 7.1 inning start of three runs, two earned a week ago. Boer worked out of the bullpen last year against UCLA and tossed 1.2 scoreless innings so he has had success against the Bruins. Ryan has the full series preview here.
Game time at PK Park is 5 p.m. If you're looking to follow along, GameTracker will have it and you can get all the in-game updates, along with links and other information, especially weather and schedule updates, on Ryan's UCLA baseball twitter. I am guessing John Ramey is up in Eugene this weekend and giving you the play by play online. This is your rubber match open thread so if you're following along, share your updates, thoughts and whatever else.
